Speed matters. We hate to wait…. for anything! We want whatever we want, now. The same holds true for any website we click on. We want it loaded yesterday. How important is web speed? According to Amazon, for every 100 millisecond stripped from the loading of their website they see a corresponding 1% increase in revenue. How long is a millisecond? 1/1000th of a second.
Of course, the best way to ensure a website loads fast is to strip the website of any graphics, scripts, or anything that makes the site more complex or to be honest, more compelling to us humans. Since most of us don’t want to strip our websites of anything fun and interesting, we need to look elsewhere as to how to speed up our websites.
