A number of our clients have asked why they should collect email addresses when they can just ask someone to LIKE them or FOLLOW them on social media. This thinking stems from the fact that social media sites are all free while housing and using a large number of email addresses costs money on sites such as Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Email Delivered, or other email service providers. The question is sort of like asking should you buy pens or pencils? Both have their uses and any office should have both ready to use. The same with email and social media. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, but together provide a very powerful one-two punch.
