Once again we bring up Mark Twain’s quote “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated” in discussing SEO. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has changed dramatically over the years, but is far from dead. As Google works hard to make SEO more human oriented and less susceptible to deception and coding pranks, many have declared the death of SEO. Google, Bing, and Yahoo have worked hard to make search results more intelligent and more relative to the subjects you are actually seeking. There are still plenty of people and companies out there selling their versions of SEO snake oil, but for most of us, good web building practices and providing new and compelling content (blogging for example) is what will help drive the search engines and web traffic to your website. Here is an infographic from the folks at SEO Book showing how SEO is still important and still alive.
