Happy 4th of July! Today we celebrate our nation’s birthday with a day off (for most of us), BBQ’s, picnics, and of course fireworks. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent for our summer Independence Day Celebration each year, much of it for private functions from estates to country clubs. It says a lot about us a country that the celebration we most closely identify with our freedom is watched pretty much from outside the gates of the rich and powerful.
