We love technology. Technology doesn’t always love us however. Business journals are filled with horror stories and tales of marketing failures when companies have tried to use technology to enhance their brand either without understanding the technology, or understanding their customers first. Think of how McDonald’s was embarrassed when they asked customers to use the hashtag #McDStories. We have written in the past about the billboards where local hospitals put up wait times for emergency rooms, as if someone might who might have had a kitchen accident (or worse, a gunshot) will somehow want to drive past a billboard first to check out the wait time at that hospital. The folks at Lattice put together this infographic on some technology related marketing fails for us to learn from.
