We’ve all heard the stories of football teams who paint the visitor’s locker room pink to sissify or intimidate the opposing team. Whether that works or not I can not speak to. My guess is you could outfit the 2012 Alabama Crimson Tide football team all in pink and they still would have trampled their opponents handily on their way to the national title. What we do know however, are that colors do create certain feelings and bring out certain emotions when used properly. Companies take their logos very seriously. They take the colors of those logos even more seriously. The colors one paints a logo can have lasting meaning as to the image that brand conveys. That is not to say that Dell or HP’s fortunes as of late would be dramatically changed if their logo was another color, but the trust we might put into their brands long term could be affected.
