Ten years ago may seem like a blink of an eye to some of us and an eternity to others. To the internet, it is most certainly the latter. In 2002 there were almost 570 million total users of the internet around the world, under 10% of the population. Flash forward to 2012 and Facebook alone as practically double that number in monthly users. Today the internet is comprised of well over 2.2 billion people worldwide.
