The film studios have been one of the biggest proponents of SOPA and PIPA. While they have certainly been hit hard by pirating, they have gone overboard protecting old business models as this infographic from matadornetwork shows. The film industry has fought just about every technology kicking and screaming at every turn and ultimately profiting by those advancements in technology, once forced to change and look forward. They certainly have a vested interest in curbing piracy, but as we’ve stated before, not by virtually shutting down the Internet in doing so.
