Facebook is not attacking anyone…….per se…..not that we know of anyway. However, with over 800 million active users, Facebook is a very convenient target for thieves, hackers, scammers, and malicious programmers everywhere. While Facebook does it’s best and blocks millions of links a day, new attacks proliferate at an ever increasing pace. Within hours of Bin Laden’s or Qaddafi’s death malware based on the news of their demise was circulating Facebook, and to be fair, the rest of the web looking for unsuspecting clicks. Commtouch put together an infographic on last year’s attacks on Facebook and the forms they took.
