Yesterday’s post showed how much data Google moves each and every day. That number was pegged at 24 Petabytes. Around here we tend to fill up hard drives with content. We’ve a number of 2 Terabyte, 1.5 Terabyte and 1 Terabyte hard drives. We’ve even got several 500 Gigabyte hard drives that don’t do much more than take up space on some shelves and in some drawers. While we think we have a fair amount of hard drive space, we’ve nothing close to a Petabyte worth of storage. Here is a quick infographic on how many hard drives would it take to equal 10 Petabytes thanks to the people at readwriteweb. Now that’s a lot of hard drives.
How do you deal with your storage needs?
