Remember the sweet sound of your 28.8 bps modem trying like heck to log into AOL or Compuserve? To those who today only know the silence of broadband, it was the same sounds your fax (if you still have one around the office) makes trying to sync with another. The Internet of 1996 rocked back then if you were one of the few techno dweebs who had it. For most of the world it was a total novelty, something to waste your money on. Some of those same people still claim it to be a total waste of money…between checking emails and their Facebook News Feed.
