While we tend to think of smartphones as high technology and even geeky, it turns out moms love smartphones. Just in case you still haven’t picked up a gift for Mother’s Day on Sunday, perhaps this might help give you an idea of one gift moms seem to love. According to data from BabyCenter, moms are 18% percent more likely to have a smartphone that just anybody. More than half of the 3000 mothers surveyed, called their smartphone “an essential tool”, while only 11% referred to their smartphone as “an expendable luxury”. Moms seem to love smartphones as a lifeline to the world. 96% of mothers surveyed, said they have installed Facebook to their smartphone, and even 36% of moms admit sending a racy photo of themselves to their partners. Mothers are power users, with over 2/3 of respondents reporting they know how to use more of the features of their smartphones.
Their phones are not just for mom either. Mothers report that nearly 25% of the apps on their smartphones are for their kids as well. From the camera to shopping apps, from Facebook to daily media, moms love smartphones. If you are a mother, how do you use your smartphone?
