The one thing you can rest assured about the internet that is the same this year as it was last year, is change. What worked was new and exciting two years ago is old hat today and perhaps even long gone. Remember MySpace, Friendster, Pets.com, or GeoCities? Some say the whole thing is a shell game, most realize the world of technology is changing so fast that you can’t rest on what you did two years ago and expect to be congratulated today for still being ahead of the curve. That in and of itself could warrant several blog posts and hours of discussion. That is not the purpose of today’s post however.
What is? Mobile Marketing. It is estimated that by 2014, the mobile internet should take over desktop internet usage. Any wonder companies like Verizon and AT&T are working with the Federal Communications Commission to help regulate land line internet while asking for mobile broadband to be virtually unregulated? Even today, one half of all local searches are performed on mobile devices. Where is the mobile internet headed?
