In a world of ever increasing demands for digital storage space, we have moved our conversations from megabytes to gigabytes to terabytes. For most of us, a terabyte or two is plenty of space these days for our documents, our games, our photos and our music. For those who run servers and cloud computing, terabytes are like  trying to store a closet worth of clothes in an overnight bag. Data centers have long passed talking terabytes and are currently talking Petabytes (1,000 terabytes) or Exabytes (1,000,000 terabytes). At the rate we are creating and storing digital content, it won’t be long before we move past Exabytes into the next sizes, Zettabytes and Yottabytes.  This graphic by backblaze gives us some visual reference to those kinds of numbers.
