A lot of websites use Google Analytics. Why not? Google provides a wealth of information about your visitors for free. All you need do is place a little piece of code in each page and you are able to measure how many people come to your site, from where, when, how long the stay, how they found you and so on. Understanding and using some sort of analytics is vital to understanding how your website is perceived in the world and how you can improve your website in the future.  Here is a wonderful inforgraphic from the folks at KISSmetrics giving an overview of Google Analytics for you to compare your website to. These are just averages and may not have a lot of bearing on your particular business or industry, but this is a very useful bit of information to give you something to measure against, if nothing else.
