As more and more of us purchase smartphones to replace everyday cell phones, the stats as to how people are using this technology is simply stated, revolutionary. Currently 34% of us carry smartphones. Smartphones however constitute 50% of new phones sold so far this year.

95% of smartphone users look for local information on their phones
89% of smartphone users use their device everyday
79% of smartphone users have used their device for shopping related activities
74% of smartphone shoppers make a purchase as a result of using their device
72% of smartphone users use their device while consuming other media. They may be watching TV, but their attention is split.
71% of smartphone users search because of an ad they’ve seen, online or offline
70% of smartphone owners have used their smartphone while shopping in-store
65% of smartphone users engage social networking sites with their devices
59% of smartphone users visited a business after accessing local content
55% of smartphone users have visited a business based on a smartphone search
47% of smartphone users look up shopping information
44% of smartphone users have made a purchase in a store based on a local search
What do these numbers add up to besides 820%? They add up to the fact that you had better pay attention to mobile web browsing with a website that is mobile friendly and have a mobile marketing plan to promote your business/practice.
