Forrester Research recently released a study that shows almost 1/2 of small business owners own a smartphone according to Mashable. That number far eclipses the general public who own smartphones at a little under 35%. While the rest of the country is catching up, small business owners are becoming early adopters in mobile technologies such as tweeting on the go and the use of location based services like Foursquare and Facebook Places. What does this mean for small businesses? There will be ever increasing demand for interaction between small businesses and users of mobile devices. Again, another reason to relook at your website and see what needs to be updated and changed to stay ahead of this trend.
