An article in Sunday’s New York Times reveals an interesting set of statistics from a Pew report showing that while almost all internet activity is dominated by younger people, adults are now embracing Social Networking more and more. In 2008, the percentage of adults 55 to 64 who used social networks such as Facebook was just 9 percent. In two short years that number has ballooned to 43 percent. Even in adults over 74, the number of people on social network sites has quadrupled in that time period to 16 percent. When will we see great grandma post pics of the wild Geratol & Metamucil mixer at the senior center?
