Well, of course every single person on the planet didn’t watch 100 YouTube videos in 2010, because despite Microsoft’s and Apple’s prolific outreach, not every person has a computer or internet device, nor will we ever reach 100% online penetration. However, YouTube announced that it has served over 700 billion YouTube video views in 2010, equaling 100 videos served per person in the world. Break that figure down a little and YouTube now delivers 2 billion video views each and every day.
If that weren’t mind boggling enough, YouTube announced that we (collectively) have uploaded more than 13 million hours of video content to their servers this year. Users are uploading more than 24 hours of video to YouTube every minute. That is a lot of musical kitties and softballs to the groin.
